Mr. Necmettin Oktay, MBA

Mr. Oktay is a core member of The School team, who brings more than 35 years of private and public sector experience as a researcher, lecturer, consultant and C-level executive in the field of strategic management and institutionalization of small and large-scale organizations.

In the last ten years of his professional life, Mr. Oktay served as Vice President and then as President at the Turkish Institute for Industrial Management (TUSSIDE), a leading institute of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). In that position, he managed many nationwide groundbreaking projects, one of which was "Strategic Management Model for Public Institutions", carried out with a partnership of the Ministry of Finance. The model was referenced as a benchmark application for all other public institutions.

Mr. Oktay has seventeen years of private sector experience, holding critical managerial positions such as Information Systems Director, Projects Director, and Deputy General Manager, with a work focus on ERP applications and Production Systems Improvements.

Mr. Oktay started his professional career as a researcher in the Operations Research Department at Marmara Research Center (MAM), one of the largest national centers of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). During this period, he had the chance to take part in nationwide impacting projects such as "Technology Policy” for the State Planning Organization, "National Science and Technology Policy" for the Ministry of State, and “Micro Planning” for the private sector.

Mr. Oktay is an active executive member of professional and social non-profit organizations. Mr. Oktay received his BS degree in Mathematics (Operational Research and Statistics) from Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, and holds an MBA diploma from Istanbul University, Istanbul, Turkey.
